Introduction
NHPC, previously known as the National Hydroelectric Power Corporation, was established in 1975 under the Companies Act as a private limited company. Today, it is a public sector hydropower company that also deals with other renewable energy sources like tidal, wind, solar, and geothermal. Moreover, NHPC Ltd. is a Mini Ratna Cat-1 Enterprise of the Indian government and is ranked among the top ten Indian companies in terms of investment base.

Sequentially, the operational revenue was up from ₹2,757.26 Cr. For the first half of the fiscal year, the revenue from operations stood at ₹5,688.52 Cr, down from ₹5,995.87 Cr during H1 FY23.
The total income for the quarter declined to ₹3,113.82 Cr from ₹3,477.93 Cr reported in the corresponding period last year. For the first half of the fiscal year, the company reported a total income of ₹6,124.04 Cr compared to ₹6,364.88 Cr reported during H1 FY23.

About the Company
Formerly known as the National Hydroelectric Power Corporation, NHPC, a public sector hydropower enterprise, was established in 1975. It was converted to a public limited company in 1986, and the Indian and state governments have a 74.51% share as a promoter of the company, while 25.49% is public shareholding. Moreover, NHPC is a Mini Ratna Cat-1 Enterprise of the Indian government and is primarily dedicated to the planning, development, and execution of an integrated network of hydroelectric projects in the country. That said, today, the company also deals with other RE sources like solar, wind, and tidal energy.
