NSE shifts BANKNIFTY's weekly index options expiry from Thursday to Wednesday for all expiries (weekly, monthly, quarterly).
In May, NSE planned to change BANKNIFTY's expiry to Friday but later withdrew due to BSE's similar shift request for Sensex and Bankex contracts.
Starting September 1, 2023, existing Thursday expiry contracts will switch to Wednesday. The first Wednesday expiry will be on September 6, 2023.
Monday: Nifty Midcap Select Tuesday: Nifty Financial Services Wednesday: Bank Nifty Thursday: Nifty 50.
With BSE's Sensex and Bankex contracts expiring on Friday, traders now have five different expiry days to manage their F&O positions.
