Ahead of Raksha Bandhan, 14.2kg LPG cylinder prices were cut by ₹200, benefiting households and easing inflation worries.

Currently, a 14.2 Kg cylinder in Delhi costs ₹1,103; Now it will cost ₹903. Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana beneficiaries to pay ₹703 per cylinder.
7.5 million free LPG connections will be provided under the Ujjwala scheme. 96 million beneficiaries are already covered under this scheme.
Retail inflation jumped to 7.44% in July from 4.87% in June. Food prices also rose sharply to 11.5% causing worry for consumers. This move comes as a relief amidst rising prices.
