SGBs or Sovereign Gold Bonds are government securities issued by the Reserve Bank of India. They are issued in units of 1 gram of gold.
The Sovereign Gold Bond Scheme Series II of 2023-2024 opens for investment on 11 September 2023 and closes on 15 September 2023. Bonds will be allotted on 20 September 2023.
The price of the SGB issue can be found by calculating the previous three business days’ average closing price of the 999-purity standard of gold.
Those investors who invest in Sovereign Gold Bonds online with the use of digital payment avenues will get a ₹ 50 discount per 1 gram of the issue price.
SGBs can be easily subscribed from the Bajaj Financial Securities trading platform.
Up to 4 Kg worth of gold units can be invested by an individual and a HUF. Up to 20 Kg can be invested by a charitable organisation or a trust.
